Synopsis:
When Maya and Magdalena lose their parents to a home invasion, Magdalena puts her dreams on hold and turns to exotic dancing. Cash is what the sisters need to stay together and keep Maya in an elite catholic high school that has set her on the path for an athletic and academic college scholarship.
These sisters come from a bloodline of Jaguar shifters from Mexico and have gained unwanted attention. The San Antonio Stripper Ripper is stalking the streets, out for a specific kind of blood.
Though Magdalena trades in skin, there is no way she will allow anyone to own her. Steamy. Bloody. Dangerous. Hairspray and Switchblades, what more could a girl need to survive the hot streets?

I’ve never been one to dabble in shifter stories, but Hairspray and Switchblades was honestly a blast! A were-jaguar stripper faces off with a mysterious serial killer, it was such a zany premise I couldn’t resist. The Mexican folklore explored in the story was fun, and I was heavily invested in the plot. With a healthy dash of horny romance that had me giggling and kicking my little feet, I flew through the story. I adored the main character Magdalena and couldn’t help but cheer for her from start to finish.
My only critique is that the story builds up to an exciting final confrontation, with all these wonderful and interesting characters gathered together only to end up being wet paper bags. This is one of her earlier works and its rough around the edges, but the fascinating and original premise make this humble little novella a worthwhile read.
