Review

Anya is a wildly entertaining character: she’s cruel, dramatic, a little crazy, darkly funny, insufferably edgy, and in her own way, really fucking badass. She’s everything I want from a female villain, and she’s quickly become a favorite character. When all the pieces slide together to form the Creator I was in awe and instantly wanted more of her character.

The pacing of the book is perfect, it never lets up and it never gets boring. I couldn’t help but feel exhilarated while reading, and I often found myself whooping and hollering throughout. I just had so much fun, and it reminded me why I love reading.

I have not read the Where Dreams Are Entombed series before diving into this prequel novella, and I didn’t find it to be a hinderance at all. Perhaps it spoils a bit of the surprise in the first book, but on the other side of the coin, I was able to be surprised by Anya’s journey. I am excited to continue the series and plan to read the rest of the books this year.
