Review

I had no idea what to expect when I picked up Wave of Filth but it was exactly as advertised, and I had so much fun! The story opens with a government cover-up conspiracy before shifting to two two “surfer dudes” getting ready to catch some waves at the beach. I was engaged right away by the story and charmed by the banter between two main characters, Stoney and Threads. Their dynamic reminded me of the kind of himbo dude bro humor of the 2000s with films like Dude Where’s My Car?

Things of course go wrong and what follows is a bloody adventure as the surfing duo try to survive. The story got quite violent but it is quite manageable compared to other extreme works. An excellent taster for Aron Beauregard’s work and all I can say is, I just wish there was more surfing!

“Now you can either keep being scared and let that thing swallow you up, or you can get ready for the ride of a lifetime. What’s it gonna be?”
