Blog
I put a lot of work into the blog this year in terms of re-design and improving the types of posts that I make. I’m a shy bean so writing about myself is awkward for me. I’m also trying to get more into the habit of writing other post types, like my author resources posts, the monthly new horror book spotlights, recommendation lists, etc. I hope to keep improving in this area in 2026, especially with making more recommendation lists.

Video Games
I got back into gaming this year, particularly around the end of the year and it has been an absolute breath of fresh air. I had been battling depression for a few years and had fallen off from some of my previous hobbies, video games and online TCGs in particular.

Life and Other Things
As mentioned above, I’ve been battling some pretty intense depression this year. A lot happened in my personal life that upended my world that are quite personal. I also received the terrible news that my favorite uncle on my mother’s side had passed, and my favorite uncle on my father’s side has been in and out of the hospital several times since Christmas battling a myriad of health issues.
I myself have had some medical issues, mostly injuries, I couldn’t use my left arm for much of the Fall because of some pretty severe pain and weakness. Naturally of course as my left arm has healed, I ended up falling down the stairs this morning while I was sleepily heading to the kitchen for a drink of water. I smashed my right elbow and my head into a wall, so I’ve been resting today and keeping an eye on my injuries, particularly my elbow. One hell of a way to cap off the year.
I am taking things slower this year though and trying to get back into things that I used to love, like gaming. For Christmas I got a few booster packs for fun of Sanrio Characters by KaBao and it’s done a lot to heal my inner child. In elementary school I was obsessed with Sanrio, especially Pochacco, but my family was generally too poor to really afford anything Sanrio related. I used to love collecting cards as a kid (mostly Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh) so it’s been really fun getting back into the hobby.
