Odette’s Tea Room is a fascinating bite-sized horror about a desperate man and a witch. The main character Martin has broken into the home of the local witch, Odette, and as the story progresses the reason for his crime is steadily unveiled. What starts as a home invasion evolves into a game of cat and mouse.
I really enjoyed the direction that this story went and was fascinated by the setting and the ending and wanted to know more. There’s themes of addiction and grief here that I felt were explored well. It’s a solid story and easy recommendation for short story lovers or for readers looking to sample Voleur’s work.
