Review
I kept passing over this game because I’d already played a ton of restaurant games and was bored with the genre. I genuinely regret not playing this game sooner because it is incredibly addicting. I’ve always loved the challenge of typing games and Cook, Serve, Delicious! offers this in a fun, fresh way. The gameplay is fast-paced and offers a decent challenge on extreme difficulty. Hitting rush hour was genuinely stressful, the game captures the chaos of running a restaurant perfectly.
The game is as indie as indie gets so there a few quality of life features missing such as volume control. The graphics and animations are at times basic, but the style grew on me over time. Some of the actions could be repetitive and became physically painful to do, an issue that is resolved in later games.
Despite my critiques, this game was FUN and I went out of my way to 100% all of the achievements. Honestly it’s one of the best cooking games out there that I will always recommend, even over some the most recent entries in the series. It’s absolutely a game worth going back to despite it now being an older title.
