Review

Deliverance is a bite-sized slice of horror that delivers thrills hard and delivers them fast. Susannah returns home after her first year of university to visit her stringently religious mother, who takes “your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit” seriously. The way that Susannah’s mother weaponizes religion makes Margaret White (Carrie) look like a peaceful dove by comparison. A wild ride from start to finish and a fun first read that’s piqued my interest in this author’s other books.

Quote

“Though she was much bigger than her mother, she felt microscopic in comparison to her. In a single moment, she was transported back in time to when she was a little girl doing everything she could to please her mother.”

About Asia Brito Guerrero

Asia Brito Guerrero is an eccentric, chaotic mess of a person who has written spooky stories all her life — most of which are created from personal experience mixed together with a deranged imagination and unhinged ideas sparked from a lot of sleepless nights.

Asia currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband where they’re raising their two feral children together. She can usually be found on her couch watching Lord of the Rings (extended versions) on repeat with her laptop nearby, drinking too much iced coffee, and eating tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
