Review

Hungry is a heavy hitter, about an animal shelter facing food shortages due to war and more animals being left abandoned every day. Donations have dried up due to a severe inflation of prices on food that kibble has become a luxury. Despite shortages, the scourge of puppy mills continue to exist. The desperation of the shelter owner to feed the animals under her care is keenly felt, and this story broke my heart.

Ruth Anna Evans consistently writes emotionally impactful horror that pull at my heartstrings. At this point I will gladly read anything that she chooses to publish, she has become one of my favorite authors writing some of the highest quality indie horror on the market. She fearlessly covers topics grounded in reality, with believable scenarios that hold up a mirror to humanity.
