Review

A simple one shot about a young man that finds a broken girl of questionable age on his front porch. They begin a toxic relationship and the titular Miss Kusakabe seems to take pleasure in degrading her partner.

The dynamic is very toxic and this one shot is on brand for Oshimi’s style of sexually uncomfortable stories. The narrative touches lightly on topics of codependency and abuse, but it’s too brief to hold any weight. These types of themes are given more depth in some of his other works, such as The Flowers of Evil.

Even though I didn’t enjoy this one due to its brevity, Oshimi’s work continues to be interesting for the themes that he explores in his stories. Plus, his art is always good.
