Review

A peaceful day at the pool turns into a nightmare as a sudden weather anomaly turns catastrophic. A grieving mother finds her world turned upside down in the blink of an eye as she struggles to protect her children. When the Cold Gets Hungry is a creepy and atmospheric short filled with so much dread. The story goes from zero to one hundred and I found myself at the edge of my seat from start to finish. I was impressed with how much was squeezed into a story under thirty pages.

Quote

“Kirsten’s throat twitched and her heart ached. She wanted to scream at the top of her lungs that she missed him too, but as she had been doing for the previous seven months since the accident, she kept herself strong for her children instead.”

About Asia Brito Guerrero

Asia Brito Guerrero is an eccentric, chaotic mess of a person who has written spooky stories all her life — most of which are created from personal experience mixed together with a deranged imagination and unhinged ideas sparked from a lot of sleepless nights.

Asia currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband where they’re raising their two feral children together. She can usually be found on her couch watching Lord of the Rings (extended versions) on repeat with her laptop nearby, drinking too much iced coffee, and eating tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
