Eric LaRocca\u2019s prose is as brutal as it is beautiful; his work is always a pleasure to read. In the introduction, Eric shares that his poetry collection stems from his struggle with intrusive thoughts. It was so unexpected, disturbing, and oddly relatable. The poetry accurately conveys the horror of that sudden, \u201cI want to stick my hand into this garbage disposal.\u201d The overwhelming stress and frustration of losing control of one\u2019s mind and shame over even thinking about such disturbing and violent things is keenly felt.
