I stayed inside during Halloween to avoid getting anyone else sick. My oldest daughter invited her (first!) boyfriend over to watch movies, but he showed up after trick or treating and only stuck around for a bit before leaving. My best friend came over with her boyfriend and it was nice to catch up. Youngest had a blast trick or treating, and my husband and a few of his junior sailors had a blast handing out candy. All in all a nice and calm Halloween.

Books Hauled

I put myself on a book buying ban after this month to save up for holiday shopping in November for Christmas. I by chance ran into the Tor Nightfire HumbleBundle and couldn’t resist!

I also ordered a pile of books from Tilted Axis Press, an indie publisher that specializes in translated literature, especially from countries less likely to make it to the West. They have a Crowd Funder going currently to help fund their initiative and expand their distribution.
