I also played a game my husband had gifted me called Ravenous Devils, which was a lot of fun (albeit stressful at higher levels). It’s a cooking a store management sim not so subtly inspired by Sweeny Todd. The story is very similar but makes a few changes, and it was extremely gorey. The game is simple and a little clunky to control but it was fun and easy to beat in one session.

Life and Other Things

Not much going on this month besides being sick with the flu a lot of this month. We had a nice and relaxed Thanksgiving this year which was nice, my husband and I cooked together which was a lot of fun. He was on deployment last year and missed all the holidays, so we’re really thankful to get to celebrate the holidays this year together.

I also convinced my husband to watch Queen of the Damned with me. I was a huge Anne Rice fan as a tween and I remember walking out of the theatre on release day being really conflicted, because I didn’t want to hate a movie adaptation for a book series I loved haha. I can appreciate it now as a time capsule of 00’s Nu Metal. The sound track was great and my husband afterward had been listening to it all week while doing chores around the house.

Books Hauled

I went light on book shopping and paused book boxes this month anticipating a lighter paycheck (two weeks unpaid sick leave at work is no fun) plus Black Friday shopping for Christmas presents and other necessities needed around the house. That and I want to give myself a chance to catch up on some of the books I already have on my shelves. It’s been tough to resist, especially with so many shiny new releases, but it’s been good for my wallet! My pre-order for Sarafina finally came in and it is GORGEOUS.

eARCs (Author/Publisher)
♥ A Blade to Silence the Screams by Tom Deady
♥ Daisy’s Dark Nursery by Eve L.
