The story follows Marju, a woman experiencing extreme psychosis, in the aftermath of a crime that has her going to trial. A police investigator is recounting Marju&#8217;s version of events while providing some play by play commentary throughout. The narration spirals out of control and after a while everything begins to feel like a fever dream and it pulled me in to the story.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately I felt only lukewarm about the book, and not because of the content. I didn&#8217;t care for the narrative choice with the investigator, the additional commentary didn&#8217;t add any value to the story, and frankly the entire investigation piece could have easily been removed from the story and not much would have changed. All of the other characters outside of Marju were also very flat.
