I did watch it when you posted in Discord, the chapulines were definitely interesting, and I'm not sure if I'd want to try that. Everything else did look really good though!

OH I watch People vs. Food all the time!! Way back to when their account was called REACT! I even follow some of these "reactors" on Instagram. They're a really fun bunch of people! Sharon, always with her lunchbox or Tupperware to take home whatever they're trying if she likes it!

I also really like their" Try NOT to eat ____" videos.
OK so my first thought: WHY did they name a boy band after that soup?! Menudo?! LOL
Omg about the corn smut - I laughed out loud when the one girl said "It tastes like how I imagine dust to taste"
OOH and I did not know that's what chapulines were! They just HAD to put the sounds effects in there, too!

The concha looks SO good! "It's like a bagel with a cookie hat on" HAHAHA
LOL and at the end: "If I can eat a cricket, you can too".
These types of videos are so funny, and they include everyone from kids to elders. I think that's why I like them so much!

so my Play By Play is kind of on discord

but yeah these are all foods i like and enjoy! it's always kind of interesting to see people who have never heard of certain foods that are so common to me, like conchas or menudo. i live close to the mexican border so most even folks who aren't mexican have heard of them here. it's another reminder about how food differs across regions and cultures!
also the response to atole was so valid like. that drink is THICK. i offer it to folks and they always expect hot chocolate, but it's such a different texture. it's so good though! i highly recommend all these foods to folks, if you can get it in your area. what's so cool about mexican food is how much is descended from indigenous dishes, and i really love that we're keeping that cuisine alive today.

Caitlin: I noticed her pulling out the tupperware yesterday and was like, "Is she getting out a tupperware to bring home that concha??" Honestly I RESPECT it. They serve good and unique foods on a lot of these react channels, sometimes decent sized portions, and it always makes me a little sad when people eat the tiniest bite and leave the rest to be thrown out.
Food Network (Round 4): ramen04, hotfudgesundae01
Eliljah: It definitely has that look like hot chocolate, I kept thinking it when I was making the deck and I kept having to stop my brain like NO you know what corn is like! The texture for a lot of corn-based foods definitely stand out. That video made me want to try everything on the list! Hopefully it inspires some folks as well.
Food Network (Round 4): pinklemonade12, wontonsoup12
Jun: Understandable, react videos I know can be grating for some. I wanted to go lighthearted this week after last week's doom journalism.
Food Network (Round 4): water18, krispykreme14
Kayori: That's fair! Insects are definitely one of those foods that become a comfort level thing. I'm that way about some of the more unusual Asian egg dishes like century egg or balut. I respect it, but I chicken out when I think about actually eating them.
Food Network (Round 4): banana20, bluecheese01

This is like, a surprisingly nice react video lmao I don't watch many of them but half the time they're like this is WEIRD and GROSS and you look and they're eating like, pho. But this was interesting, I hadn't heard of half the stuff in the video and I've never eaten any of them. The conchas look really good though I'd love to try one of those, and I've always wanted to try mole but I never have either. Most of the Mexican restaurants where I live are chains or like, very Americanized, and when I'm there I'm just like "well I want tacos" so I don't try anything else sfjshkfj

Same here! If we had an authentic Mexican restaurant around here where I am, I'd definitely try some of these dishes! But our "Mexican" cuisine is like... Taco Bell which in my opinion does NOT count!! And another place called Taco Express, which has tacos, enchiladas, stuff like that... AND chicken tenders, etc, for people who don't want Mexican.

This was actually on my feed and I watched it the other day. Though I'm willing to try many things, I feel for many of these, I would be more willing to try if I didn't know what was in them first. My mind does have a tendency to hear "weird" food things and automatically thinks it is going to be bad and then I have a harder time reacting to what I'm tasting based on the preconceived feeling on it. The most delicious looking thing in the video though was the Conchas at the end. I would love to try those.

Some of the foods mentioned in the video yea not going to happen. Not that I find it strange, just the texture could be a trigger for me, though I would try to eat crickets, the concha bread, and try the seven moles. Even the stuffed pepper I would try, but the drink and the soup I don't think I would be able to do so. I even went looking for concha bread at wal-mart and kroger...
