Review
This Is Not Your House is a quirky little horror game. You play an elderly man who returns home to find a woman has broken into his house and changed all the locks. The story takes some absurd and entertaining turns from there. Told in a choose your own adventure format, there are ten endings which can all be completed within an hour.
The pixel style and music do a good job of making the game feel uncomfortable, and the plot taps into fears of home invasion and random assault. The idea of losing everything, even one’s identity without paperwork like an ID or personal property with which to identify you is a terrifying prospect. I got this game on sale for 50 cents and it was a fun little experience.
