Review

Days of Love at Seagull Villa is a yuri manga about a city girl starting over and finding love in the countryside. Mayumi is a late 20’s woman that flees to city after a dramatic breakup with her fiancé. She starts over in a rural town and moves in with her new landlord Rin, an outgoing tomboy raising a child on her own.

The first few pages of this manga are simply gorgeous. Kodama’s art style is very cute and the colored pages are wonderful. There is a lot of fan service which wasn’t personally for me but I could ignore it. I liked the three main characters well enough and am interested in seeing how their relationship grows.

Plot wise, this manga moves pretty fast and I think some of the interactions between Mayumi, Rin, and little Hinata are a bit excessive. In addition to the main romance, there is a secondary story developing in the background between two middle school students. They add a little drama to the story, but it’s weirdly incestuous and it really spoils the whole vibe of the story. Despite my hang-ups, I am invested enough to continue the series.

Quote

“Around here there are only younger girls, so I think she’s really happy that another girl around her age moved here.”
