Review

HunieCam Studio is exactly what you think it is from the title. It was a wildly unexpected follow-up to the wildly popular HuniePop, a dating sim that took off on Steam. HunieCam Studio takes place in the same universe and features a few returning characters as well as some new characters, some of which would be later featured in HuniePop 2.

The game is straightforward, you run a cam girl business for 21 days with the goal of increasing your fan base as high as possible. While the mechanics are simple to understand, there is a fair bit of strategy strategy for how to efficiently run your operation to climb as high as possible. The higher your score, the more coins you earn which can be used to unlock more hair and outfits for the girls.

The only achievement that I’m missing is the one to unlock all unlockable wardrobe items. I came very close twice, and unfortunately my save file was lost twice. I will boot up the game occasionally to grind out another session in the hopes of finally finishing that last achievement without my file being wiped again, but I’ll be honest that after 30+ hours I’m not very keen to finish it. The game can be fun on your first few playthroughs as you unlock outfits and find all of the available girls, but it will become a repetitive after a while.

HunieCam Studio is a quirky game that will tickle the fancy of gamers who like management sims. It doesn’t do anything ground breaking, but it’s a fun little sim with some cheeky achievements. It is very different from the other games in the series, so it may or may not appeal to existing fans of the franchise.
